Town Treasures: Black Migrations Stories
PATA ALI LOVE CLUB AND CAMRON STANFORD HOUSE JOIN FORCES TO LIFT AFRICAN AMERICAN VOICES
Patanisha Williams, cultural curator, and Camron-Stanford House, museum of Victorian-era Oakland, are proud to announce their new partnership starting in February with exhibiting the groundbreaking "Black Gold Storytellers” project. This exhibit will showcase the compelling narratives of African American Elders who undertook the momentous migration to Oakland including National Treasures: Joyce Gordon, Oscar Wright, and Ishmael Reed. The exhibit features three-time Grammy Winner, Fantastic Negrito and his family’s migration story. The BGS project was founded by the esteemed Dr. Adrienne Danyelle Oliver, dedicated to preserving and sharing these vital stories.
