Have you ever tasted real English clotted cream? Do you know why many afternoon teas include curried chicken? Would you like to taste a Fairy Scone?
Themed Tea Parties
Camron-Stanford House offers four seasonal teas per year. Our current calendar includes:
A Gingerbread Tea – Saturday, December 9, 2-4 pm
This is a chance to celebrate the holidays in the most relaxing way possible with a cup of tea, some savory sandwiches and a selection of special ginger themed sweets. You’ll forget about the crowds outside and even have the chance to decorate your own gingerbread man to take home. Children must be 6 or older.
A Valentine Tea – Saturday, February 10, 2-4 pm
Cupids, lace, chocolate, bubbles, rose scented tea and all things pink. Tell someone how much you love them by reserving seats for this very Victorian tea party. Dress for the event and do wear a hat! Adults only.
The March Hare Tea – Saturday, March 10, 2-4 pm
With visits by the March Hare and the Queen of Hearts, this tea is for the young or young at heart. You’ll think you’ve fallen into wonderland with our special Eat Me cakes, Caterpillar Mushrooms and playing card tea sandwiches. Children must be 6 or older.
Victorian Garden Party Tea – Saturday, May 19, Noon to 2 pm
Enjoy the first blush of blooms as our Victorian Garden wakes up from its winter nap. Weather permitting, we’ll have tea on the veranda or in the garden where we can see spring before our very eyes. This is a flower themed tea with blooms abounding.
All theme teas include a variety of finger sandwiches, homemade scones with strawberry jam, imported clotted cream and lemon curd; a selection of petite sweet treats and tea from Mariage Frere in Paris. Seating is limited to 40 guests.
The cost for our theme teas is $45 per person (including children) and $40 for members. Each guest receives a booklet explaining the history of afternoon tea and a recipe for our Fairy Scones. To make reservations, visit our Events Page.
